The ISA Today
Since that time, soccer in Irving has grown into leagues in the spring and fall with divisions for boys and girls from four years old through eighteen years old.
Each year more than 1600 Irving participants take advantage of ISA recreational leagues that promote youth and adult development through competitive fun and fair play. Young players learn teamwork and achieved exercise through a sport recommended as a good start by many pediatricians. Soccer is family oriented as well as a worldwide passion. All of this provides an educational experience that will contribute to the development of better citizens.
ISA has one of the lowest registration fees in the area. The fee pays for United States Soccer Federation registered referees, awards, insurance, balls, nets, corner flags and membership in the North Texas State Soccer Association, the United States Youth Soccer Association and the Federation Internationale de Football Association.
ISA is a volunteer organization. Currently over 300 volunteers contribute more than 7000 hours each season to the programs sponsored by ISA. These volunteers have available to them various levels of training in the form of coaching clinics, referee clinics, assistant referee clinics and various other seminars for league administrators, coaches and parents. The beginning level clinics are provided free of charge to our active volunteers and parents.
In 1983 the association began hosting its own recreational tournament as a kick-off for the fall season. Not limited to local players, teams come from throughout North Texas. This tournament is the Association's primary fundraising event of the year, helping to provide game field maintenance, nets, corner flags and balls, as well as helping keep the registration fee for each player as low as possible.
In 1997 the Irving Parks and Recreation Department was proud to announce the purchase of land to be developed as a new soccer complex to be used for ISA games.
In 1999 ISA established it's presence on the World Wide Web at irvingsoccer.org.
On September 6th, 2003 The new Irving Soccer Complex opened with the Twentyth Irving Invitational Tournament hosting over seventy teams from the North Texas area.
